Question about Limewire

I just got a new mp3 player and downloaded limewire to get some music for it. It installed fine but now it's giving me a dialog box that says Language Options that I'm supposed to navigate using tab. But when I press tab, it doesn't go anywhere and nothing happens. Sorry if I can't explain this very well, but what should I do now?

I heard that lime wire brings in lots of spyware, and not very good to use... so i deleted it crom my computer completely.

Are you using Jaws? I tried Limewire, and it just wasn't accessible at all with Jaws. Like you said, it installed okay, but I hit the same dialog box you described. I had someone sighted help me navigate through it, thinking that once I got past that, everything would work. That didn't happen. Jaws wouldn't read anything that was on the screen, so I just had to uninstall Limewire (and get rid of the spyware that came with it).

Yup, I'm using Jaws. Thanks for telling me. Oh well, my brother just got it and it sounded really cool but I guess it won't work for me. Guess I have to get music legally now lol

I would not recommend this program at all. Even if it was accessible with jaws, I've heard of a lot of people losing their computers to it. I still don't know why people don't switch to bit torrents, but anyway. It would be nice to find a good source for single song downloads.

There are blindies that use SoulSeek as well. You might have to use your mouse keys to click on some stuff. Also, a lot of people are using BitTorrent and DC++ these days.

I use SoulSeek with... mixed results. It finds songs for me, but a lot of the time they just sit there forever, never downloading.

Hmm, I've heard about all those torent thingys, maybe I'll try them out. Do I have to install anything special to get them?

You need a torrent... um, *blinks* there is a word for them. It's a program that actually downloads the files. The torrent file itself is really small, then you get a torrent client (that's the word) that'll get the actual mp3's from the torrent. I use ABC, but for the life of me don't remember where I got it from. Sorry.

Well you can download the original Torrent client at www.bittorrent.com. It has the fewest amount of features, but gets the job done. There are other torrent programs like ABC Torrent, Azureus and Bit Tornado. You can download Soulseek from www.slsknet.org.
